Still Life in Centrifugal Canvas The 'centrifugal canvas' is a canvas which generates physical phenomena as centrifugal force and gravity by rotating a cylinder. "Inside" the canvas is the daily breakfast as represented by Starbucks coffee and newspaper. The objects are continuously repositioned both by their inherent physics and by the physical force generated by the rotating cylinder. This project tries to reveal the essence of the objects by putting them in the context of physical laws, while traditional artists try to investigate the essence by understanding the relation of light and object. The viewer observes the objects change from concrete form to abstract as time goes by. In this way, the project also reveals the temporal nature of the objects, in contrast to the momentary impression that is captured by traditional still life. This project was exhibited at a joint exhibition under the title Meet by Accident in Chelsea, New York Title : Meet by Accident
