Interrupted Behavior

First, in order to test the effects of physical interruption on artistic design,
I engineered a device that creates non-conscious interruptions of the subjects' conscious efforts. I designed a pen that tracks the non-conscious phenomena created by

(1) the random movements of a ball in a rotating cylinder,

and (2) the autonomous movements of a fish. Then, using this special pen, I encouraged subjects to consciously attempt to write or sketch a body part. The physical interruption in the pen disturbs subjects’ conscious efforts and procures unintentional results. See results (1), see results (2)
